Missing hospital patient found
A 53-year-old Gold Coast Hospital patient, last seen wearing pyjamas and a black helmet, has been found safe and well after spending a night on the street.
The man was reported missing from the Gold Coast Hospital at 4pm (AEST) on Monday and fears were held for his safety as he needed urgent medical attention.
He was found at 8.25am on Tuesday at Anglers Esplanade, Runaway Bay, by a local resident who saw the man in her front yard and contacted police.
The man suffers from an acquired medical condition that affects his ability to communicate with others.
He was being examined by ambulance officers and will be returned to Gold Coast Hospital for treatment.
