Brothers plead not guilty to torture
TWO brothers have pleaded not guilty to the torture of a man near South Stradbroke Island, off the Gold Coast, three years ago.
Gold Coast brothers Jade Lacey, 26, and Dionne Lacey, 22, faced Brisbane District Court on Monday each charged with assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in company, extortion, threatening violence, torture, malicious act with intent and deprivation of liberty.
The charges, to which they have pleaded not guilty, relate to an incident involving Owen Colin Matthews on April 22, 2007, on Brown Island.
The trial continues.
