ROBINA-based graphic designer Wayne Sorensen has taken photography to the next level.

Mr Sorensen was awarded three distinctions and a first place from four entries in the International Aperture Awards, an online photography competition.

“Photography has been a passion all my life, but it’s only been the last 12 months I’ve taken it to the next level,” Mr Sorensen said.

He said he was awarded first place in the Landscape category for his photograph, Emerging Dawn, Currumbin Rock.

“I love being able to capture the right moment for the photo, and Currumbin is a favourite spot,” he said.

“I set the exposure time to a few seconds to get the water moving from one point to another.

“To get the shot takes time, because I go back each morning.

“My ultimate reward is when someone loves an image as much as I do and buys a print to hang on their wall as a piece of art.”

Mr Sorensen’s photographs can be viewed at www.waynesorensen.com.
