Movie stars Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are set to visit the Gold Coast next month.

HOLLYWOOD is coming to the Gold Coast and bringing two movie stars with it.

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell will be attending the Australian premiere of their new movie, The Other Guys on August 18, at Event Cinemas Robina.

The new Sony Pictures action-comedy surrounds Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg) who are two mismatched detectives from New York city.

The pair try to act on an opportunity to be like the city's top cops, Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) however, things do not go according to plan.

Robina Event Cinemas spokeswoman said staff at the cinema can't wait to hold the event.

“Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell will be in attendance to walk the red carpet,” the spokeswoman said.

“Our staff are very excited to have two huge stars coming to the site.

“How often can staff at any worksite say they have Hollywood film stars coming into their place of work?”

The spokeswoman said the premiere being held at Robina means big things for the Gold Coast.

“The national premieres usually go to Sydney or Melbourne, so for the Gold Coast to be able to show a bit of glamour, we're really looking forward to the event, ” she said.

Two Gold Coast residents, Hayden McEvoy and Amy-Jo Stalinescu are planning to attend the premiere.

“We are so excited to be attending this star-studded event,” Ms Stalinescu said. “We can't believe that we will get to see Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell.”

Mr McEvoy said it will be a great night, especially for the Gold Coast.

“To have Hollywood stars on the Gold Coast is pretty special and we can't wait to attend the screening,” Mr McEvoy said.

Wahlberg and Ferrell will also make a special appearance at the Australian International Movie Convention at Jupiters Hotel and Casino on August 18.

Queensland fans will be able to attend the movie premiere at Robina which starts at 6.15pm.

The Other Guys is being released nationally on September 9.
